What You Need to Add to Your Weekly Routine

Are you willing to spare 15 minutes every week to ensure you are being intentional with your time and energy and ensure you are living your life in alignment with your goals and dreams? This is a bit of a rhetorical question, I hope you answered yes.

With our busy lives, we often get stuck in this cycle of constantly going, we hardly take time to stop and reflect. We don’t truly think about what is going on around us, what is working, what’s not working, what we want to change and whether we are living in alignment with our goals. Taking time to reflect on this can be so incredibly impactful and it doesn’t take too much time and energy from your week.

Committing to weekly reflections provides an opportunity to:

  • Slow down and take time to learn from your experience and adjust your life accordingly.

  • Be more intentional with your time, energy and focus.

  • Live in more alignment with the life you want to lead.

  • Focus more on your goals and can bring the outcomes sooner.

  • Be more in tune with your body, mind and soul.

I encourage you to take a few minutes every week to reflect on the previous week and think about what you want from the week ahead. Maybe you could make a little Sunday morning routine where you make a steamy cup of coffee or tea, diffuse some uplifting scents, put on your favourite playlist and cozy up to ask yourself a few questions. It doesn’t have to be elaborate, you can simply celebrate your wins, reflect what worked for you and what didn’t, what lessons you learned and what adjustments you want to make. It can be as simple as reflecting on these questions or you can use a journal to help you process your thoughts more or to keep a record of your reflections.

If you want to dig a little deeper, here are a few more questions you can ask yourself.

Reflections on the past week:

  • What would I like to celebrate from the past week?

  • What worked well in the past week?

  • What didn’t work well in the past week?

  • What have I learned in the past week?

  • What would I have changed about the past week?

  • What am I grateful for about the past week?

  • Did I spend my time and energy on the things that are most important to me?

  • Is there anything I focused my time and energy on that I don’t want to in the future?

  • Did I take time to prioritize my physical wellbeing? If not, what stopped me?

  • Did I take time to prioritize my mental wellbeing? If not, what stopped me?

  • Did I take time to prioritize my emotional wellbeing? If not, what stopped me?

  • Did I take time to prioritize my spiritual wellbeing? If not, what stopped me?

  • Did I achieve my goals?

Reflections for the upcoming week:

  • What is the most important thing I need to accomplish this upcoming week?

  • How do I want to spend my time and energy this week?

  • How am I going to prioritize my physical wellbeing?

  • How am I going to prioritize my mental wellbeing?

  • How am I going to prioritize my emotional wellbeing?

  • How am I going to prioritize my spiritual wellbeing?

  • How do I want to feel next week and how can I bring more of that in my life?

  • What do I want more of this upcoming week?

  • What I want less of this upcoming week?

Give the process a go and see how this quick 15 minute practise can help guide your throughout your week and bring you closer to your goals.
